Fallout 2 and NV characters

I started playing New Vegas. During my brief stay in Nipton I managed to shoot Vulpes and the other Legionaries and now there are groups of Legion assassins tracking down my character all over the map. They're high level, so the game became unbearably difficult and I spend my time dashing between NCR outposts to avoid being killed. Thus, my Courier is no longer a smiling character.

The other character is my Fallout 2 tribal.
